shield volcano - the hardened layers of lava that build up
cinder cone - a cone shaped hill or mountain
composite volcano - tall cone shaped mountain fo layers of lava alternate with ash, cinders, and bombs
caldera - the hole left by the eruption collapses into the volcano
volcano neck - looks like a giant tooth that is stuck into the ground
dike - the magma that forces itself through rock layers that harden
sill - the magma that squeezes between the layers of rocks
